hey everybody!! heres something that can help you as well as me

this is a service called uber, it is a taxi/ride service that can come pick you up and take you wherever you need to go. it has a mobile app available for convenience

the link above has my promo code!!!! if you create an account with my promo code, you will automatically receive $30 of uber credit.

all you have to do is sign up and verify your email address and mobile phone number via text message (sending “GO” to 827222) and you will have that $30 without paying anything.

heres how this can help me: if you make an account and then use the uber taxi service, even if its less than the $30 credit so you dont pay out of pocket, i will receive credit for referring you and have money credited to my account that i can use on rides

this is really important for me right now because i dont have any reliable transportation atm!!!!

by car, my commute home from work is 30 minutes. by metro it is at least 2 hours.

the metro is not as reliable in my area esp at night and i do not have a working phone to check directions or call for help if i get lost. i work late and have to go home after 9pm. i very nearly have my drivers license (my test is this week) but even in that case i do not have a car i can drive!

please please sign up and use this service if you can!!! it would help me out a lot and i would be very grateful. otherwise  please signal boost this post!

some of this information is outdated (namely, i no longer have a job so money is EVEN tighter) but id really appreciate signal boosts and people using this service!

This is so unbelievably fucked up. I feel sick. Everything about this is so terrible. And they just don’t care. They don’t care, and I know it’s because she “is described as having special needs.” She was so vulnerable, and they used her, and now they don’t fucking care.

Please please spread this around. Every adult involved in this shit needs to be fired and banned from any position involving children ever again. This girl deserves justice, but she also deserves just to actually have people give a fuck about what happened to her. God.

This is what happens when people continue to treat women and girls as untrustworthy witnesses to their own lives. This is what happens when people insist on making rape victims the ones that have to do the work of proving beyond a reasonable doubt that their rape even happened. This is what happens when sexual assault victims are criticized as if they had any blame in their rape.

Some small bit of good news is the victim’s parents sued the school and the department of justice sided with the parents: http://www.al.com/news/index.ssf/2014/09/feds_side_with_14-year-old_gir.html

Let’s also not forget this girl is described as being “special needs” meaning she is disabled. Ableism certainly played a role in this.

ohhhh sorry they didn’t win the suit - they actually had their case DISMISSED, BUT the Department of Justice filed a federal brief on their side, which will allow them to try to sue.

i apologize for the misinformation
